Pura Vida - New Thai Villa Resort Pai
While cycling on the highway, the thought of Pai in northern Thailand, I see some very attractive signs on the street for a place called Pura Vida. The name "Pura Vida" conjured up some wonderful memories I had in Costa Rica, where Pura Vida (is) literally means Pure Life both a greeting and an attitude that is an integral part of the culture of Costa Rica.
Determination of Pura Vida in Thailand have become curious, I followed the signs and landed on a small hillPlace about 5 km away from the town of Pai. Built on the grounds a orange grove, stands this charming boutique resort of 8 bungalows some beautiful landscaped gardens - the centerpiece is a large pond with water lilies and other aquatic plants.
He admired the gardens, the owners - an elderly Dutchman, and his Thai wife had invited me to join them for a cup of freshly brewed coffee mountain communities. Chatting with the Dutchman, he was a small story of how he ended up in Thailand as aHotelier. Of course, shifting his decision about meeting a beautiful Thai lady who later became his wife shot herself. Showing me around, I was impressed with the solid construction of the relatively spacious bungalows. When I asked the owner about the name of the place, he admitted visiting Costa Rica - some time later when he decided to build a small tourist retreat in Thailand, he decided that Pura Vida a catchy name would be for his new job. He's absolutely right - PuraVida is a name that most tourists will remember.
Pura Vida is one of the newest bungalow resorts in Pai at splashed onto the scene in November 2006.
